MEET DR. ALAN HOWARD
With over 30 years of experience in the dental field, licensed dentist Dr. Alan M. Howard has the skill and knowledge to improve the health and appearance of his patients’ smiles. Dr. Howard is pleased to work alongside his son, Dr. Yonatan Howard, at The Dental Office Encino to provide preventive, general, cosmetic, and restorative dental treatments to their patients in southern California. With training from The Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, and continuing education from Spear Advanced Dental Education and other professional organizations, Dr. Howard is skilled in the most advanced techniques and dental technologies. He truly loves his profession and enjoys working every day because he can help those who are in need.
SPECIALTIES AND SKILLS
Dr. Alan Howard has spent many years expanding his skills in general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry. With mentors like Dr. Ron Goldstein and Dr. Ron Feinman, who are considered the founders of cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Howard is skilled at improving his patients’ teeth with custom veneers or a full smile makeover. He is also experienced in minimally invasive gum (periodontal) treatments using laser technology. Understanding the importance of a good night’s sleep in a patient’s overall health, Dr. Howard has spent time learning about sleep dentistry. He offers custom treatments for sleep apnea, snoring, as well as care for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Dr. Howard attended Hadassah Medical School at The Hebrew University for both his undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.). This is also where he performed his internship and medical residency. Dr. Howard is a dedicated student of dentistry, continuing his education through courses, seminars, and conferences on a monthly basis. This allows him to stay up-to-date on the latest dental techniques and technology, which means more efficient treatments for his patients.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS
To improve his knowledge and techniques, Dr. Howard is an active member of many professional memberships including the American Dental Association (ADA), Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, and Faculty Club with Spear Advanced Dental Education. He also maintains certification by the Dental Board of California.
AT HOME
Dr. Howard has two great kids. His son, Yonatan, practices dentistry with him and they love working together. His daughter Dana earned a PhD in philosophy from Brown University before becoming a professor at Ohio State University. Dr. Howard’s hobbies include tennis, traveling, and Israel advocacy.
MEET DR. YONATAN HOWARD
Dr. Yonatan Howard is a licensed dentist who is pleased to treat patients from Encino and surrounding areas like Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, Tarzana, Woodland Hills, West Los Angeles, Calabasas, and Beverly Hills. Working alongside his father, Dr. Alan M. Howard, Dr. Yonatan Howard focuses on giving each patient a great experience when they visit The Dental Office Encino. Dr. Howard continues to learn about modern dental technology and techniques, such as CEREC same-day restoration and guided implant surgery, so he can offer the best treatment for his patients in less time. Outside the office, Dr. Howard enjoys spending time with his wife and their children.

Dr. Yonatan Howard is dedicated to providing his patients with a stress-free dental experience, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit to The Dental Office Encino. This is why he continues to learn about the latest dental techniques and technologies like CEREC same-day restorations (crowns, inlays, onlays), 3D imaging for planning dental implant surgery, and laser periodontal surgery for gum disease. Dr. Howard is a certified provider of Invisalign for cosmetic teeth straightening using clear, removable dental trays.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Dr. Yonatan Howard earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He is committed to expanding his experience in the field and continues his education in dentistry on a daily basis. He has completed a number of advanced training courses, including guided implant surgery, bone grafting, and 3D dental printing. Dr. Howard is certified in Invisalign and oral-conscious sedation, and he participates with Spears Education.
