"I’ve been coming here for years and have always had the best experience! Love everyone on their team! They’re always so professional and the office is always sparkling clean with the best tech. Would give 10 stars if it was an option!"- A.A. / Yelp / Aug 18, 2020
"I am so impressed by this office. I had a terrible tooth ache and the 2 offices I called before couldn't care less. When I called Dr. Howard's office, they were so caring and timely. When I came in for my appointment, I was blown away by the protocols they have in place during Covid. I felt so safe and comfortable in the office. Dr. Y took amazing care of me. He made me a ceramic crown in 1 hour, no temporary and no second visit. I couldn't even tell it wasn't my natural tooth. The technology is out of this world and to be honest, the price was very reasonable for the amazing finished product. I'm honestly excited to come back for my cleaning and regular check up. Thank you so much to the entire office for your hard work!"- D.B. / Google / Aug 19, 2020
"A bit of a background before i begin. :-) My experience with dental offices in general began when i was 5. Yep, 5 years old and already needing fillings. Place this child in a Soviet Russia and you will get a good idea why i have been traumatized by visits to a dentist and carried my anxiety throughout my whole life UNTIL i discovered Dr. Alan and Dr. Yoni’s office!! Words could not decribe my relief and excitement when after my first dental work with them i walked away WITHOUT a locked jaw! And each time some work was needed, there was no pain during or after! And everything was done so quickly and so efficiently! The equipment they have is the top of the line, so there is never a need to wait or to return for the second part of the procedure, everything is done right there and then! The entire team is efficient and knowledgeable! My only regret is that i haven’t found you guys sooner!!! I love how kind and attentive everyone is! I wish i was more verbose in describing how i truly feel about this gem of a dental office, but words fail me and all i can add is that my heart is overflowing with love and gratitude and i will be forever grateful for everything you guys do and the way you do it!"- A.S. / Yelp / Aug 17, 2020
"This dental office is the best. Everyone is professional, friendly, and efficient. Brittany is the best hygienist I have ever had. She truly cares about her patients. My husband and I have been going here for about 15 years. Would not consider ever going elsewhere."- M.S. / Yelp / Nov 12, 2020
"I’m never disappointed at the Dental Office. It is just so refreshing from the atmosphere coming in the door, to the teeth cleaning and Drs chairs in the back. They make you feel right at home and are truly so gentle with their work! I didn’t feel a thing with my cleaning. And my teeth were so beautiful after, thanks Britni! Afterwards, Dr. Y took care of some cavities, which was painless and so fast. Highly recommend."- S.S. / Yelp / Sep 24, 2020
A number of symptoms may indicate that you are grinding your teeth and/or clenching your jaw while you sleep. You might wake up in the morning with tightness and pain in your jaw, a headache, or facial swelling. Other indicators are loose teeth and/or fillings, chipped enamel on your back teeth, a receding gumline, and tooth sensitivity. Teeth grinding and jaw clenching at night are often caused by stress, but could also be brought on by misaligned teeth, allergies, a sleep disorder, or temporomandibular joint disorder (called TMD). When Dr. Alan or Yonatan Howard make your bruxism diagnosis, he will also try to find out the cause so that your night guard therapy can be coupled with other treatments for the best possible outcomes.
What to Expect
After Dr. Howard makes your bruxism diagnosis, he will obtain oral impressions and digital x-rays to create your custom night guards. Next, he will send your specifications to a special dental lab where your specialized night guard will be created with the best materials. After your night guard is finished and sent back to our office, you will return to our office for a fitting. Dr. Howard might make small adjustments so that it fits properly and comfortably. Dr. Howard will also give specific instructions on how to properly care for your night guard so it will last many years.
For maximum night guard efficiency, you must wear it each night. Your night guard should diminish or alleviate the discomfort and dental complications created by bruxism, but if it doesn't, please inform our staff so Dr. Howard can address additional issues and try other options. In order to help keep your night guard in pristine condition, we recommend that you clean and care for your night guard prior to and after each use. We ask that you bring your night guard to all future dental appointments so Dr. Howard can adjust and repair the guard as necessary.
Once you receive a bruxism diagnosis, some of the cost of your night guard could be paid by your dental insurance company. If you have dental insurance, someone on our team will call your insurance carrier to determine your coverage and costs. At your preliminary appointment, Dr. Howard will give you information about our accepted payment methods as well as your costs, with or without insurance. To help you afford your dental care, The Dental Office Encino can help you find information on medical financing.
